About The Role
We’re seeking an experienced HR professional who is committed to strengthening and evolving the HR function. Success in this position calls for a combination of operational expertise, adaptability, and hands-on execution. You should excel as a collaborative team player, working closely with others to implement thoughtful and flexible solutions.
Our ideal candidate is capable of managing pressure and high workloads because they are driven by continuous growth and skill development. The HR Generalist supports daily HR operations across both Canada and the United States. This role is essential in maintaining efficient HR processes, ensuring compliance with local labor regulations, and delivering a positive employee experience. The ideal individual is highly organized, detail-focused, and confident working in an international environment with diverse regulations and practices.

Roles & Responsibilities
HR Operations & Administration:
Maintain accurate and current employee records within HRIS platforms for employees in both Canada and the US
Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including documentation, system access setup, and onboarding coordination
Draft HR-related documents such as employment verification letters and policy revisions
Address employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure organizational compliance with federal, provincial, state, and local employment laws and best practices, while reviewing policies and procedures across Canada and the US
Support audit activities and reporting obligations
Monitor and manage work permits and visa documentation
Payroll & Benefits
Administer Canadian and US payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
Handle registration requirements across applicable provinces and states
Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments and updates
Serve as a point of contact with benefits vendors in both Canada and the US
Employee Experience
Assist with employee engagement programs and internal communications
Coordinate HR-related events and activities
Encourage and support an inclusive workplace culture across regions
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of Human Resources experience
Background in employee relations
Knowledge of payroll administration and taxation
Understanding of various HR functions, including compliance, leave administration, benefits, and vendor management
Preferably strong familiarity with both Canadian and US HR practices
Excellent organizational abilities and strong attention to detail
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and regulations
Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and open work environment

Work Environment Requirements
As a remote-first company, you’ll have the ability to work from your home office. For some positions, as posted, we will accommodate global opportunities where we have established businesses, including Canada, Mexico, and the UK. For global locations, you must have established and current work authorization and permanently reside in that country.
This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate with our colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), and Slack. In this role, you will be required to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity tools as necessary. Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to remain stationary for extended periods, must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication, must have reliable internet access, and a professional background.
