Overview
As Director of HR for North American Operations, you drive the HR strategy across about a dozen manufacturing and distribution sites. You partner with operations and supply chain leaders to address workforce needs, design organizational structure, and develop leadership capability. You'll lead a team of HR managers and partners, steward employee relations, and guide talent reviews and succession planning to sustain performance. This remote role emphasizes accountability, continuous improvement, and a data-driven approach to people practices in a manufacturing context. You will collaborate across functions to enable safe, productive operations and a strong employee experience.

Responsibilities
- Lead execution of the Americas HR strategy across manufacturing and distribution locations with consistent expectations and accountability
- Act as strategic HR partner to senior operations leadership and advise on workforce, talent, organization, and leadership decisions
- Coach and develop HR Managers and HR Business Partners to build site capability
- Plan staffing and retention to address capability and productivity challenges
- Advise on organizational design and lead implementation of people initiatives with change communication
- Oversee complex employee relations matters, investigations, and escalations with legal and specialists as needed
- Coach operations leaders on performance management, engagement, and leadership effectiveness
- Lead talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development to strengthen bench strength
- Use metrics (turnover, headcount, labor-cost, engagement) to identify trends and drive action plans
- Ensure consistent HR policy application and compliance, escalate risks with Legal and stakeholders
- Collaborate with EHS on safety-related people matters and maintain program ownership
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Operations to deliver integrated solutions
- Build productive employee experience across frontline and professional populations
- Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and standardization across the region
- Handle additional projects as assigned by VP HR & Talent Acquisition - Americas
- Demonstrate Watts values through transparent communication and accountability
- Travel approximately 30% to facilities and other locations
- Provide remote/onsite HR support in a manufacturing environment
- Adhere to Watts policies and procedures and maintain strong internal relationships
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience including at least 5 years in senior HR leadership in manufacturing or industrial settings
- Knowledge of employment law, employee relations, organizational development, talent management, and HR practices in manufacturing/distribution
- Compliance with applicable laws, codes, policies, and safety practices
- Successful Employment eligibility verification and pre-employment testing as required by law and company policy
